Kaiser took a three-goal loss the last time they faced off against Carter, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cats skirted past the Lions 2-1. The victory was all the more spectacular given Kaiser's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1056th, while Carter are ranked 518th).

The win snapped Kaiser's losing streak at seven matches and leaves them with a 2-13-1 record. As for Carter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-9-3.
