Basketball Recap: Grant Kuntz's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lone Star over Prairie

Lone Star was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a hard 51-35 fall against the Prairie Mustangs. The Longhorns were not able to make up for their loss to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in February.

Several Longhorns players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Grant Kuntz, who posted eight points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The dominant performance also gave Kuntz a new career-high in blocks (three). Jayden Sporing was another key player, putting up six points and nine rebounds.

Lone Star's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Prairie, they moved to 1-3 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Lone Star and Weldon Valley will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Prairie will take on Akron in a holiday battle at at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
