Baseball Game Preview: Chaparral Cowboys vs. Boulder City Eagles

For the second straight game, Chaparral will face off against Boulder City. The Cowboys will venture away from home to face off against the Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Chaparral has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 24.

Chaparral lost 16-2 to Boulder City on Monday.

For Boulder City's part, Cash Daley looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Daley has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gauge Rhodes was a standout: he scored four runs while going 3-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Gauge Andrews, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Boulder City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matches.

Boulder City is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Chaparral, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.
