Volleyball Recap: Smithson Valley Extends Winning Streak to Four

Smithson Valley extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Berkley Bates. The Rangers came out on top against the Ellison Eagles by a score of 2-0 on Thursday for which the team can thank Bates, who had 20 digs and one assist. She has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last six times she's played.

Another player making a difference was Caitlyn Ortiz, who had seven digs and two aces. Those aces were her first of the season.

Smithson Valley's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Ellison, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Coincidentally, Smithson Valley and Ellison will both be playing Hutto the next time they take the court. The Eagles will head out to face the Hippos at 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, while the Rangers will play them later in the day, at 3:15 p.m.
