Volleyball Recap: Stoughton Comes Up Short

Stoughton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Edgerton Crimson Tide. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crimson Tide apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

While Stoughton was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-23.

Emma Trautsch paced Stoughton's offense, picking up seven kills. Trautsch got some help from Lia Tiede and her ten assists. Finally, Ella Maag kept Stoughton's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Stoughton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Edgerton, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-6.

Stoughton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Janesville Craig on the 20th. As for Edgerton, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against East Troy on the 20th.
