Baseball Recap: Christ's Church Academy Takes a Loss

If Christ's Church Academy was riding high fresh off their 24-1 takedown of Cedar Creek Christian last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Christ's Church Academy Eagles fell just short of the Old Plank Christian Academy Defenders by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Defenders earlier this season, when they won 19-8.

Ayden Bedi was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Christian Murray also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Christ's Church Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Old Plank Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Christ's Church Academy will square off against Concord Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Old Plank Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against Middleburg at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The last four games Middleburg has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
