Basketball Game Preview: Davison Cardinals vs. Oxford Wildcats

Davison hasn't had much luck against Oxford recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cardinals duke it out with the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Davison saw some tournament action on Monday. They strolled past Lapeer with points to spare, taking the game 65-51. The win continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Lightning: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Oxford entered their tilt with Harper Woods on Thursday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Pioneers with a sharp 68-43 victory. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.

Oxford's win bumped their record up to 21-1. As for Davison, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Davison might still be hurting after the 64-39 loss they got from Oxford in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Davison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
