Baseball Recap: Point Arena Comes Up Short

Point Arena extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 4-4. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grace Christian Academy Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 back in April.

As for Grace Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games.

For Grace Christian Academy's part, Leif Jackson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. Jackson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, earning one run and three stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Owen Hall, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.
