Basketball Recap: St. Cecilia Academy Takes a Loss

St. Cecilia Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 67-25 loss at the hands of the Harpeth Hall Honeybears. The Scarabs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-11.

St. Cecilia Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Megan Knapp, who posted nine points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mia Galassini, who earned six points along with six boards and three blocks.

Even though they lost, St. Cecilia Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in six consecutive matchups.

St. Cecilia Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Harpeth Hall, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

St. Cecilia Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-15 defeat against Franklin Road Academy on the 14th. Harpeth Hall will take on Harrison County in a holiday battle at at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Harrison County will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Harpeth Hall surely won't give up without a fight.
