Softball Recap: Lewis County Takes a Loss

East Hickman County hit Lewis County with a four-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 5-4. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Taya Tiller made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Julianna Roden, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Lewis County's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 11-7. As for East Hickman County, they pushed their record up to 9-9 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lewis County will take on Perry County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for East Hickman County, they will face off against Dickson County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
