Baseball Recap: Bloomington North Has No Trouble Against Linton-Stockton

Bloomington North barely beat Linton-Stockton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 30-1 margin over the Miners on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Miners: they've now won eight in a row.

Brogan Hanna looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Chris Barnett was incredible, getting on base in all six of his plate appearances with one home run, five runs, and six RBI. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jake Mayer, who scored four runs while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances.

Bloomington North always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .765. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Linton-Stockton only posted an OBP of .211.

Bloomington North's record now sits at 2-0. As for Linton-Stockton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bloomington North will host Columbus North at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Linton-Stockton, they will welcome West Vigo at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
