West Side skates past Aberdeen with ease

Recap: West Side Pirates vs. Aberdeen Tigers

The West Side Pirates can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Aberdeen 49-22 at home. The victory was just what West Side needed coming off of a 71-22 loss in their prior contest.

Among those leading the charge was Aynslee Stewart, who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. Tommi Henderson was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

West Side's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-14. As for Aberdeen, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Side will face off against Declo at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Declo's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while West Side has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. Aberdeen on the road again on Monday and play against Soda Springs at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd.
