Baseball Game Preview: Parke Heritage Wolves vs. Fountain Central Mustangs

Parke Heritage is 8-1 against Fountain Central since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Wolves will face off against the Mustangs at 11:00 a.m. Parke Heritage is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Parke Heritage lost a heartbreaker the last time they played South Putnam, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's matchup. The Wolves put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 12-6 win on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for the Wolves as they're now sitting on three straight.

Parke Heritage got a massive performance out of Lewie Woody, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. Those two doubles gave Woody a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Renn Harper, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

North Putnam hit Fountain Central with a four-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mustangs fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 7-6. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost six in a row.

Fountain Central's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Parke Heritage, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.

Parke Heritage skirted past Fountain Central 7-6 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
