Softball Recap: Lakeland Comes Up Short

If Lakeland was feeling good fresh off their 19-9 takedown of King's Fork last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cavaliers came up short against the Western Branch Bruins on Thursday, falling 16-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cavaliers of the 13-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Lakeland now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Western Branch, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeland will take on Lake Taylor at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Western Branch, they will challenge King's Fork at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
