Softball Recap: Brentsville District Wins Going Away Against Millbrook

After losing to Millbrook the last time they met, Brentsville District decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Tigers put the hurt on the Pioneers with a sharp 7-1 victory on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Austyn Blankenship spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Ava Garza was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Marvin, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs.

The win made it two in a row for Brentsville District and bumps their season record up to 10-5. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.5 runs over those games. As for Millbrook, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Brentsville District is set to challenge their familiar foe Skyline at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Millbrook will face off against rival Handley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
