The Mineral Ridge Rams will head out to square off against the Boardman Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Mineral Ridge comes in on six and Boardman on seven.
On Tuesday, Mineral Ridge got the win against Springfield by a conclusive 16-2. Considering the Rams have won eight games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Mineral Ridge got a massive performance out of Laney Rigley, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Rigley has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times she's played. Maddie Gerberry was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Mineral Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .688. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .615 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Boardman ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Champion.
Tori Strines spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Boardman's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ava Freeborough, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another was Addie Rudge, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.
Mineral Ridge pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Boardman, their record now sits at 13-2.
Both Mineral Ridge and Boardman just can't seem to miss. The Rams have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. However, it's not like Boardman struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.7 hits.
