Basketball Recap: Safford Comes Up Short

Safford lost against Tanque Verde back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Safford Bulldogs fell to the Tanque Verde Hawks 78-74. The Bulldogs just can't catch a break and have now endured six defeats in a row.

Tanque Verde was led to victory by Philip Knott and Enzo Castillo. Knott almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds, while Castillo went 10 of 15 en route to 27 points. What's more, Knott also racked up five steals, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Rocco Haggard, who posted ten points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Safford's record now sits at 8-18. As for Tanque Verde, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 15-11.

As of now, neither Safford nor Tanque Verde have any future games scheduled.
