The Calvert Cavaliers will challenge the Huntingtown Hurricanes on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Calvert sitting on five straight wins and Huntingtown on four.
Calvert is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against La Plata, sneaking past 16-15. 16 seems to be a good number for the Cavaliers as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Madison Weems was incredible, going 1-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hailey Hilton, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs.
Meanwhile, while Huntingtown put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for McDonough. The Hurricanes blew past the Rams 18-0. The Hurricanes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by nine runs or more this season.
Jordyn Greever made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Madisyn Williamson was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Kayla Ripple was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Huntingtown hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive games.
Huntingtown's win bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Calvert, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.
Calvert came out on top in a nail-biter against Huntingtown when the teams last played back in April, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Cavaliers repeat their success, or do the Hurricanes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
