Volleyball Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss

Liberty came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Pueblo West Cyclones, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Lancers in their meetings with the Cyclones: they've now lost six in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-13, 25-13.

Shea Taylor paced Liberty's offense, picking up four kills. Taylor got some help from Alyssa Willcox and her 11 assists. Finally, Adaleigh Winterhalter kept Liberty's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Pueblo West had a senior duo take command as Bricelyn Baudino had nine digs and two aces and Jillian Millirons had 11 digs and two aces. Those 11 digs set a new season-high mark for Millirons.

Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Pueblo West, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

Liberty didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Falcon on the 30th. As for Pueblo West, they will take on Brighton at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
