Softball Game Preview: David Anderson Blue Devils vs. Leetonia Bears

David Anderson is a perfect 8-0 against Leetonia since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Blue Devils will head out on the road to challenge the Bears at 5:00 p.m. David Anderson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, David Anderson narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Wellsville 4-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

Kamryn Peruchetti spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, David Anderson's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sofia Brown, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Leetonia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 28th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Liberty, falling 15-4.

David Anderson's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Leetonia, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.

Everything went David Anderson's way against Leetonia in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as David Anderson made off with a 26-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
