Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Hayes Free and Trace Adcock Lead Rabun County to Victory

There's no place like home for Rabun County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Towns County Indians on Tuesday as they made off with an 83-62 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won six in a row.

Rabun County was led to victory by Trace Adcock and Hayes Free. Adcock shot 67% from beyond the arc on his way to 22 points and six assists, while Free dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten boards. Adcock has also also been stellar as far as shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 50% every time he's hit the court this season. Another player making a difference was Huey Blalock, who posted seven points along with 11 assists and three steals.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Rabun County was working as a unit and finished the game with 31 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Rabun County's record now sits at 6-1. As for Towns County, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Coming up, Rabun County will challenge Providence Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The contest will give the Wildcats their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Towns County, they will square off against Highlands at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
