Basketball Recap: Philipsburg-Osceola Comes Up Short

Philipsburg-Osceola played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Forest Hills Rangers and fell 83-35. The Mountaineers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-18.

Forest Hills found their leader in sophomore Dylan Stohon, who went 11 for 13 en route to 24 points and five boards. The match was Stohon's 16th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Koy McGough, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten assists.

Philipsburg-Osceola's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Forest Hills, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-1.

Philipsburg-Osceola will square off against Bellefonte at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Forest Hills, they will challenge Central Cambria at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Forest Hills knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 18 contests -- so hopefully Central Cambria likes a good challenge.
