Soccer Game Preview: Cheney vs. Shadle Park

The Cheney Blackhawks will square off against the Shadle Park Highlanders at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Shadle Park took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Cheney, who comes in off a win.

Cheney's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Mead 3-0.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Shadle Park and Central Valley, and Central Valley kept the tradition alive. The Highlanders lost 5-0 to the Bears on Friday. While losing is never fun, Shadle Park can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 229th, while Central Valley are ranked 85th).

Cheney's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Shadle Park, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Cheney took their win against Shadle Park when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 8-0 score. Will the Blackhawks repeat their success, or do the Highlanders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
