Basketball Recap: Penquis Valley Comes Up Short

Penquis Valley came up into this matchup off a tough 41-point loss last Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Greenville Lakers by a score of 48-46 on Monday. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lakers earlier this season, when they won 53-25.

Penquis Valley's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Greenville, the win snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 3-13 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Penquis Valley won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Piscataquis at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Penquis Valley is facing Piscataquis at the right time seeing as Piscataquis is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Greenville, they will face off against Carrabec at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
