Baseball Recap: Smoky Hill Comes Up Short

Smoky Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Eaglecrest Raptors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raptors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-3 on Saturday.

Christopher Robinson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Hudson Roth, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Smoky Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Eaglecrest, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-6.

Smoky Hill has already played their next contest, a 10-0 loss against Cherokee Trail on the 17th. As for Eaglecrest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 7-0 defeat against Cherry Creek on the 17th.
