Basketball Recap: Carroll Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Carroll can now relate to. They took a 58-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fort Wayne Snider Panthers. The Chargers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 67-55.

Despite the loss, Carroll still got an impressive performance from Cala Haffner, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Haffner is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jersey Paul, who posted ten points and three steals.

Saniah Sandlin was a one-woman wrecking crew for Fort Wayne Snider as she went 8 of 11 en route to 21 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave Sandlin a new career-high in points. Janaya Cooper was another key player, going 6 for 8 to rack up 14 points and five rebounds.

Carroll's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Fort Wayne Snider, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Carroll does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fort Wayne Snider, they will square off against Fort Wayne Northrop at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Fort Wayne Snider is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.5 points per game this season.
