            The Notre Dame Pioneers will face off against the Sulphur Golden Tors at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday. Notre Dame's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4  runs per game  this season, so Sulphur's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Notre Dame is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another  one of Louisiana's top teams: Brusly, who was ranked 11th  at the time (Notre Dame was ranked 13th).   Claire Mellard was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she  pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off   four  hits.
 Sulphur's loss dropped their record down to 16-12. As for Notre Dame, their  defeat was their first of the  season and  makes their record 30-1.
Monday's   game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Notre Dame hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .476.
