Baseball Recap: Union-Endicott Comes Up Short

Union-Endicott had lost five straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 7-10 to make it six. They lost 10-0 to the Vestal Golden Bears. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Golden Bears this season, with their most recent defeat being a 7-2 loss on May 7th.

As for Vestal, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.9 runs over those games.

For Vestal's part, Ben Tanton was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Tanton has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, JT Gannon was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Landon Pancoast was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

As of now, neither Union-Endicott nor Vestal have any future games scheduled.
