The Unicoi County Blue Devils will head out on the road to take on the David Crockett Pioneers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games Unicoi County has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Unicoi County can't be too worried about heading out to take on David Crockett: they just beat Volunteer at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Blue Devils had just enough and edged out the Falcons 5-4 on Monday.

David Crockett not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 17th (when they won 17-1). They blew past Grainger 15-5. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Like Unicoi County, David Crockett also got a great game from a two-way player: Madelyn Dulaney. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off only two hits. Dulaney was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, David Crockett got a massive performance out of Brylee Tullock, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Tullock a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Julie Maupin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
David Crockett always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Unicoi County's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-7. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for David Crockett, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 22-8-1.
Unicoi County couldn't quite finish off David Crockett in their previous meeting on Thursday and fell 4-2. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
