2016-17 Nevada preseason high school girls basketball Fab 5, presented by the Army National Guard

1. Centennial (Las Vegas)

Head coach: Karen Weitz
2015-16 record: 31-1

The Bulldogs dusted the competition last year and finished as the No. 7 squad in the Xcellent 25 rankings. Arizona commit Samantha Thomas will lead the attack after posting 15 points and eight rebounds per game last year.

2. Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas)
Head coach: Sheryl Krmpotich
2015-16 record: 29-2

The Gaels reached the D-I state quarterfinals last season and were the No. 2 team in the state. This group graduated a host of seniors, but the veteran program shouldn't be doubted.

3. Liberty (Henderson)
Head coach: Chad Kapanui
2015-16 record: 26-4

The Patriots made it all the way to the Divison I state championship last year. Senior Kaily Kaimikaua should be poised for a huge season after recording 8.4 points and 3.1 rebounds.

4. Spring Valley (Las Vegas)
Head coach: Billy Hemberger
2015-16 record:
29-4

The Grizzlies fell to Faith Christian in the Division I-A state final last season. But Spring Valley brings back a deadly duo in Essence Booker and Kayla Harris. The dynamite backcourt members each averaged over 15 points per game last season.

5. Desert Oasis (Las Vegas)
Head coach: Laurie Evans
2015-16 record: 16-8

The Diamondbacks reached the D-I region semifinals last season. Expect Mikala Kirby to be tough to contain after depositing 11.2 points and 3.1 rebounds.
