Volleyball Game Preview: Smithsburg Leopards vs. North Hagerstown Hubs + Official Tickets

Smithsburg is 1-7 against North Hagerstown since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:45 p.m.

On Wednesday, Smithsburg came up short against Oakdale and fell 3-1.

Meanwhile, North Hagerstown strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top against Williamsport by a score of 3-1.

The victory didn't come easy: Williamsport scored at least 22 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 25-22, 18-25, 25-23.

North Hagerstown's win came from a few key players Smithsburg will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Zalikah Pabalan, who had 21 digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Ly, who had 27 assists and four digs.

Smithsburg's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for North Hagerstown, their win bumped their record up to 12-0.

Smithsburg couldn't quite get it done against North Hagerstown when the teams last played back in September of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Leopards avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
