Baseball Recap: Exeter Township Takes a Loss

Exeter Township fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Conestoga Valley on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Buckskins by a score of 7-6.

Kamren Martin was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over 6.2 innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only four hits, the fewest he's had since back in April.

At the plate, Matt Woram was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Brenton Feathers was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Exeter Township's defeat dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Conestoga Valley, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-8-1.

Exeter Township does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Conestoga Valley, they have already played their next game, a 10-3 loss against Palmyra on the 23rd.
