Softball Game Preview: Eastern Montgomery Mustangs vs. Craig County Rockets

Eastern Montgomery has gone 9-1 against Craig County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Mustangs will welcome the Rockets at 5:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Eastern Montgomery's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Parry McCluer as they made off with a 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won eight matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Kenzie Dunbar, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Macie Akers was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Craig County came out on top against Narrows on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run seventh inning. The Rockets walked away with a 15-11 win over the Green Waves.

Craig County's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Eastern Montgomery, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.

Everything went Eastern Montgomery's way against Craig County in their previous meeting on April 7th, as Eastern Montgomery made off with a 20-4 victory. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Rockets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
