Basketball Game Preview: M.L. King Lions vs. Miller Grove Wolverines

The M.L. King Lions will take on the Miller Grove Wolverines in a tournament on Monday. M.L. King has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since November 25.

Last Thursday, M.L. King had to suffer through a 64-31 loss at the hands of Hampton.

Despite the loss, M.L. King saw an underclassman step up: freshman Khloe Wilson posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamora Whittlesey, who put up six points.

Meanwhile, Miller Grove scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of Stone Mountain by a score of 58-55. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Wolverines have suffered since December 12, 2023.

M.L. King's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Miller Grove, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-3.

M.L. King beat Miller Grove 53-40 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for M.L. King since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
