Softball Recap: Southeast Snaps 17-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Southeast's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They blew past the Bayshore Bruins 18-3. The high-scoring effort was just what the Seminoles needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Kimberly Cordero was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nia Civil, who scored four runs while going 3-for-3.

Southeast was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .742. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Southeast's win ended a 17-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-11. As for Bayshore, they dropped their record down to 4-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southeast will square off against Riverview Sarasota at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bayshore, they will challenge Braden River at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bruins are facing the Pirates at the right time seeing as the Pirates are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
