Softball Recap: Staunton River Golden Eagles vs. Broadway Gobblers
Staunton River and Broadway squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Staunton River had to settle for second. They came up short against the Gobblers, falling 8-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Golden Eagles have suffered since March 29th.
Emma Alcorn was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over 4.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
