Basketball Game Preview: Clay Panthers vs. Northwest Mohawks

The Clay Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Northwest Mohawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clay is looking for their season's first win.

Clay is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 56 points last Saturday, they were much more limited against Eastern on Saturday. They lost 52-30 to the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Northwest was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 42-37 to Waverly. The matchup marked the Mohawks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Clay's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Northwest, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2.

Clay was taken down by Northwest 57-21 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Clay avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
