The Firelands Falcons will head out on the road to challenge the Norwalk Truckers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Firelands is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.

Firelands is headed into the contest having just posted their closest victory since April 9, 2024 on Thursday. They skirted past Columbia 5-3.

Jeanette Crawford was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Sarah Blankenship was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Norwalk got themselves on the board against Perkins on Thursday, but Perkins never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Pirates.

Firelands has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Norwalk, their record is now 4-8.

Firelands suffered a grim 17-3 defeat to Norwalk in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
