Baseball Game Preview: Harlan Hawks vs. Warren Warriors

For the second straight game, Harlan will face off against Warren. The Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Warriors at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Harlan came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Warren, falling 10-3. The Hawks' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

For Warren's part, Alex Garza was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Garza has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adrian Lopez, who scored a run and stole four bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Joaquin Guerra, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Warren is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Harlan, their loss dropped their record down to 13-12.
