Baseball Game Preview: Geibel Catholic Gators vs. Keystone Oaks Golden Eagles

The Geibel Catholic Gators are taking a road trip to challenge the Keystone Oaks Golden Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Geibel Catholic comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Monessen hit Geibel Catholic with a ten-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Gators lost 15-4 to the Greyhounds. That's two games in a row now that the Gators have lost by exactly 11 runs.

Eahn Stevenson put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Meanwhile, Keystone Oaks suffered their biggest defeat since March 25th on Tuesday. They came up short against Waynesburg Central, falling 13-3. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jack Hrivnak was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Keystone Oaks' loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Geibel Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
