Basketball Recap: Patriot Prep Academy Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Patriot Prep Academy had won three straight home games and Faith Thomas did her part to make it four on Thursday. The Patriot Prep Academy Eagles rang in the new year with a 36-24 win over the KIPP Columbus Jaguars thanks in part to Thomas, who posted 16 points and four blocks. Her evening made it 13 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Narkuor Tetteh-Odonkor, who had seven points and 12 rebounds. She is becoming a predictor of Patriot Prep Academy's success: when she posts at least ten rebounds the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when she doesn't).

Patriot Prep Academy now has a winning record of 5-4. As for KIPP Columbus, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Patriot Prep Academy will welcome Academy for Urban Scholars at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Patriot Prep Academy's defense has only allowed 29.4 points per game this season, so Academy for Urban Scholars' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for KIPP Columbus, they will host Cristo Rey at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
