Davie and Alexander Central are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Davie War Eagles will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Alexander Central Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Davie's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over North Davidson.

Colin Harrison looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Coy James was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Potts, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Alexander Central gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Davie 5-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Dillion Church looked comfortable as he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Alexander Central let Maddix Reese and Wyatt Smith run wild. Reese scored a run while going 1-for-3, while Smith scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Alexander Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matches dating back to last season.
