Baseball Recap: Maret Takes a Loss

Maret and St. Albans squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Maret had to settle for second. They lost 6-0 to the Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in April.

Devin Trendl was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Maret is 6-3 when he allows at most two walks, but 4-7 otherwise.

Maret's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-10. As for St. Albans, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-14 record this season.

As of now, neither Maret nor St. Albans have any future games scheduled.
