Baseball Game Preview: El Segundo Eagles vs. West Warriors

El Segundo and West are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but likely not for long. The Eagles will be taking part in a tournament against the Warriors at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. West took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on El Segundo, who comes in off a win.

El Segundo is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Bishop Montgomery, sneaking past 7-6. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Jaiden Rico, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025. Logan Brooks was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 12-2 to Long Beach Poly.

El Segundo came out on top in a nail-biter against West in their previous meeting back in February of 2025, sneaking past 8-7. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
