Basketball Recap: Sweetwater Comes Up Short

Sweetwater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a blow against the McMinn Central Chargers, falling 65-38. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-54 two weeks ago.

Despite the defeat, Sweetwater saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hunter Daffron posted 12 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Si McCosh, who had five points and five boards.

Sweetwater's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for McMinn Central, their win bumped their record up to 7-14.

Sweetwater will square off against Tellico Plains at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tellico Plains knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 22 contests -- so hopefully Sweetwater likes a good challenge. As for McMinn Central, they will challenge Polk County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
