Recap: James F. Byrnes Rebels vs. Fort Mill Yellow Jackets
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the James F. Byrnes Rebels had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 66-43 margin over the Yellow Jackets. James F. Byrnes is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 13 straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead James F. Byrnes to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kayzzin McDowell, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. McDowell is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Will Fowler, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Several Yellow Jackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was AJ Washington, who scored 15 points along with two steals. Washington hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. Logan Parker was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
James F. Byrnes has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 20 of their last 21 games, which provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season. As for Fort Mill, their loss dropped their record down to 17-12.
James F. Byrnes will be playing in front of their home fans against T.L. Hanna at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. James F. Byrnes knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 matchups -- so hopefully T.L. Hanna likes a good challenge.
