Basketball Game Preview: New Castle Hurricanes vs. Taylor Allderdice Dragons

The New Castle Hurricanes and the Taylor Allderdice Dragons will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. New Castle will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

Last Friday, New Castle sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 62-60 win over Butler. Given the Hurricanes' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Golden Tornado are ranked 223rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Taylor Allderdice was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 66-60 to Butler. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (55), the Dragons still had to take the loss.

This is the second loss in a row for Taylor Allderdice and nudges their season record down to 2-6. As for New Castle, their victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0.

New Castle might still be hurting after the 65-45 loss they got from Taylor Allderdice in their previous meeting back in December of 2019. Can New Castle avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
