Softball Recap: Maple Mountain Falls Short Against Ranked Cedar Valley

Maple Mountain faced Cedar Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles fell just short of the Aviators by a score of 4-2. The Golden Eagles were red-hot at the plate heading into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the three games prior), but the Aviators' pitcher proved too tough.

Maple Mountain saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brettlyn Walker, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Another was McClain Carter, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Maple Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Cedar Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.

Maple Mountain wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 13-2 loss against Springville on the 10th. As for Cedar Valley, they have also already played their next matchup, an 8-4 win against Spanish Fork on the 10th.
