Football Game Preview: Dawson Bulldogs vs. Valley Mills Eagles + Official Tickets

The Dawson Bulldogs will head out to face off against the Valley Mills Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Dawson's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Friday. They breezed past Itasca to the tune of 49-0. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won three matchups by 31 points or more so far this season.

It was another big night for Brant Boatright, who rushed for 190 yards and two TDs while picking up 10.0 yards per carry, and also threw for 103 yards and three touchdowns. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 64 yards. Chace Thomas was in the mix too, providing Dawson with two scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Dawson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 259 rushing yards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Dawson's defense and their six sacks. Casey Larremore was especially locked on to Itasca's QB and sacked him twice.

Meanwhile, Valley Mills' game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They slipped by Itasca 22-21. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Wampus Cats: they've now won six in a row.

Valley Mills' record is now 5-3. As for Dawson, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 3-4.

Dawson took their win against Valley Mills when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 30-8 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
