Football Game Preview: Mineral Ridge Rams vs. McDonald Blue Devils

Mineral Ridge is on a three-game streak of home wins, while McDonald is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Rams will welcome the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Mineral Ridge 14.8, McDonald 13.2) so any points scored will be well earned.

Mineral Ridge will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Western Reserve, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Rams claimed a resounding 51-20 victory over the Blue Devils. Considering the Rams have won six games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, McDonald slipped by Springfield 7-6 on Friday. The seven-point effort marked the Blue Devils' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

McDonald's win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Mineral Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Things could have been worse for Mineral Ridge, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 33-14 loss to McDonald in their previous matchup back in October of 2024.
